Chinese power companies have refused to waive off nearly PKR 170 billion (₹5,800 crore) in late-payment charges on Pakistan. Pakistan is now reportedly trying to secure up to $10 billion in low-cost foreign financing to repay the Chinese energy debt. It is reportedly approaching countries including Saudi Arabia for loans.
