short by Garima Garg / on Friday, 24 July, 2026
A district consumer commission in Kerala ordered IRCTC to pay ₹30,000 as compensation for mental agony and ₹3,000 towards litigation costs to a woman who booked a pilgrimage package in December 2022. She alleged a last-minute boarding point change, a 17-hour departure delay and skipped/curtailed visits to promised destinations. The commission found IRCTC guilty of deficiency in service.
