RBI raises daily CRR maintenance limit to 99%

The Reserve Bank of India has raised the minimum daily Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) maintenance requirement for scheduled banks from 90% to 99%, effective October 16, 2026. The move reduces banks' flexibility in managing daily reserves and could tighten liquidity, potentially raising funding costs and affecting credit availability.
