India’s $1.2-billion exports at risk over Trump’s Iran tariff

The 25% tariff imposed by US President Donald Trump on countries doing business with Iran has raised concerns over India’s $1.24 billion worth of exports to Tehran. However, exporters are unlikely to see immediate disruption, as trade with Iran is largely restricted to humanitarian goods. Notably, total trade between India and Iran stood at $1.7 billion in FY25.
