Instacart co-founder Apoorva Mehta launched a hedge fund, Abundance, that runs almost entirely on AI, replacing fundamental portfolio managers. Abundance relies on thousands of bots that search the internet for trade ideas, conduct in-depth research, pick stocks, and even execute trades. The firm, which raised $100 million in seed equity financing, will have a degree of human involvement for now.
