Entry of women would alter nature of worship: Govt on Sabarimala case

The central government told Supreme Court that allowing women would alter the nature of worship in Kerala's Sabarimala temple and would undermine religious pluralism. The Centre said Lord Ayyappa of Sabarimala is a 'Naishtika Brahmachari' (perennial celibate). The apex court is set to hear review petitions against its 2018 order permitting entry of women of all ages into the temple.
