A plantation drive in MP's Bhopal has sparked outrage after hundreds of mature trees were allegedly felled to plant new saplings. The felling reportedly took place in Kaliyasot area, where the Bhopal civic body had awarded a contract to plant around 10,000 saplings. The civic body has ordered an inquiry and also imposed a ₹3.5 lakh fine on the contractor.
