The US reportedly launched a diplomatic campaign, involving Secretary of State Marco Rubio, to discourage countries from participating in the funeral procession of Iran's slain Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. According to Tasnim, which is affiliated with Iran's IRGC, the campaign included "explicit threats" to cut development aid. Reportedly, 13 countries withdrew their representation from funeral.
