Over 2,100 industrial units (around 91%) across Delhi-NCR have failed to comply with stricter particulate matter (PM) emission norms, the Indian Express reported. The norms, including installation or retrofitting of air pollution control devices, were to come into force from August 1 but have now been extended to October 1. Direct industrial emissions contribute 9% to winter pollution in Delhi.
