Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau faced criticism for not speaking in French while condoling two pilots' deaths in a plane collision at US' LaGuardia airport. Rousseau spoke just two words in French- "bonjour (greetings)" and "merci (thank you)". He admitted his French remains weak "despite many lessons over several years," and apologised that the criticism diverted attention from the incident.
