US in ‘direct talks’ with Houthis after they capture Red Sea island: Vance

US Vice President JD Vance said Washington has been engaged in “direct conversations” with the Iran-backed Houthis after they seized Perim Island in the Red Sea. Vance said US is also in contact with Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The Houthis have seized Perim and Hanish Islands and captured Mocha and Dhubab, giving them more control over maritime shipping routes.
