Birds & monkeys in Amazon talk to each other via 'internet of the forest', study finds

Scientists uncovered an "internet of the forest" in the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest, where birds and monkeys use and respond to each other's alarm calls to warn of predators. The study found that small canopy birds weighing under 100 grams were most likely to relay calls. Researchers also found that the sudden, unusual silence of these birds can itself signal danger.
