EU to give Ukraine $1.6 bn from interest on Russia's frozen assets
The European Union will provide Ukraine with $1.6 billion by using the interest earned on Russia's frozen central bank assets, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced. "This will support Ukraine’s continued resistance against Russia’s illegal war," she added. This comes after Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a Russian attack on capital city Kyiv killed 17 people.
