Anthropic to pay ₹86,000 crore to Bitcoin miner to power its own AI models: Report

Anthropic signed a 20-year deal worth $9.1 billion (₹86,000 crore) with Bitcoin miner Riot Platforms, which recently began selling AI data centre capacity, Bloomberg reported. Riot will supply 191 megawatts of computing power for Anthropic to run its AI models, with the first 96 megawatts coming online by 2027-end. Two five-year extensions may raise contract value to ₹1.53 lakh crore.
