Egypt's desert was rich marine ecosystem 145 mn yrs ago: Study
A study led by palaeontologist Tarek Yassin of Cairo University found that a rich marine ecosystem existed in place of Egypt's desert around 145 million to 66 million years ago. Researchers examined and identified fossils of 14 shark teeth from seven species in Egypt's Abu-Tartur Plateau. They added that the seven species belonged to different time periods in the area.
