Two powerful earthquakes struck off Venezuela's coast on Wednesday evening, with a 7.2-magnitude foreshock followed just 39 seconds later by a stronger 7.5-magnitude quake, according to the USGS. Among the strongest to hit the country in over a century, the tremors collapsed buildings in Caracas and split roads apart. There's a 44% chance of over 10,000 fatalities, the USGS estimated.
