Syria's de facto leader Ahmed al-Sharaa said it could take up to four years to hold elections in the country. He added that drafting a new constitution could take up to three years. Sharaa leads the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group that ousted President Bashar al-Assad earlier this month, ending decades of his family's rule.
