A 1.79-acre property worth around ₹60 crore belonging to a charitable trust associated with Madurai's Meenakshi Sundaraswarar Temple has been illegally grabbed through fraudulent land transfers, registrations and mortgage transactions in Tamil Nadu. An FIR has been registered against 19 people following a complaint by the temple's Joint Commissioner. Further investigation is underway in the case.
