How many jobs have India's top private banks cut in recent years?

India's largest private lender HDFC Bank has trimmed over 4,000 jobs in FY26 compared to previous fiscal, while the country's third-largest private sector lender Axis Bank has cut its workforce by 3,000, Moneycontrol reported, citing disclosures. While India's second-largest private sector lender's FY26 numbers aren't out, ICICI Bank cut 6,000 jobs in FY25. RBL Bank cut 950 jobs in FY26.
