What happens to auto-debit payments for OTT subscriptions under new UPI rules?

Recurring transactions, including monthly utility bills, mutual fund SIPs and OTT subscriptions, made through UPI Mandates or AutoPay, will not incur any merchant discount rate (MDR) charges. However, a one-time UPI payment for an eligible mutual fund transaction will attract an MDR of 0.02%, capped at ₹300 per transaction. MDR is paid by the merchant, not the customer.
