China added 20 Japanese firms to its export ban list and placed 20 others on a monitoring list for items that can be used for military purposes. Chinese companies exporting to the monitored firms will have to apply for special licenses. Tensions between both countries rose after Japan's PM said they may intervene if China uses military force against Taiwan.
