OpenAI to give ₹47 cr to help mathematicians amid backlash over AI proofs

OpenAI will donate $5 million (around ₹47.43 crore) backing a $15 million Simons Foundation initiative to help mathematicians navigate AI's growing role in research. This follows backlash from mathematical community after OpenAI published hundreds of experimental AI-generated proofs at once. Anthropic will also donate $5 million. The initiative will help evaluate AI-generated mathematical results.
