Infantino ineligible for re-election: Ex-FIFA governance chief Maduro

Ex-FIFA Governance Committee chief Miguel Maduro has called Gianni Infantino ineligible for another term as the organisation's president, arguing his previous roles should count towards term limit. Infantino was elected in 2016, 2019 and 2023, but FIFA ruled his initial shortened term did not count. Human rights organisation FairSquare earlier urged member associations to declare him ineligible.
