Global cancer cases could nearly double by 2050 without urgent action: WHO

The World Health Organisation issued a warning on Wednesday, saying that new cancer cases worldwide could nearly double and reach almost 35 million a year by 2050 without urgent action. Currently, cancer causes over 26,000 deaths every day, with around 20.6 million new cases and nearly 10 million deaths annually. Survival rates also differ sharply between rich and poor countries.
