Union Minister Nitin Gadkari claimed that an opposition leader offered to support him if he were to enter the race for the Prime Minister's post ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, but Gadkari refused. "I asked why you should support me, and why I should take your support," Gadkari said. "To become the PM isn't my aim," Gadkari added.
