Sukhendu Sekhar Ray, who resigned as Rajya Sabha MP and quit TMC on Monday, cited "anarchical rule of TMC" and "widespread corruption" as the reasons for leaving the party. He also cited "atrocities committed against women", failure of TMC government in healthcare and education in his resignation letter. Notably, TMC lost in the recently concluded Assembly polls in West Bengal.
