Man who consumed poison in anti-drugs protest faces 9 cases himself: Police

Jagseer Singh, who consumed poison in Punjab's Sangrur alleging that he was beaten by his village sarpanch and his associates for raising the drugs issue, faces nine cases himself, the police said. The cases include charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The most recent case was filed against him this year, the police said.
