Asiad gold medallist Chikitha's father once sold family's rice harvester to fund her archery

India's 21-year-old archer Chikitha Taniparthi's father once sold the family's rice harvester and took loans to buy her bow and fund her training. "I didn't get into archery on my own. It was my father's choice. He wanted me to play sport because he couldn't play any sport," she said. Chikitha won two gold medals at the Asian Games 2026.
