The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka on Tuesday said that it has approved a 75% hike in power tariffs. "The Commission decided to approve a fair electricity tariff, taking all these public and other stakeholder comments into consideration," Chairman Janaka Ratnayake said. Notably, small consumers will face a 264% hike in the power tariff rate.
