A 32-year-old Bengaluru businessman, Arun Kumar, was electrocuted and killed while trying to rescue his pet macaw (type of parrot) valued at about ₹2.5 lakh after it landed on a high-voltage electric pole in Giri Nagar. He climbed a compound wall with an iron pipe, which touched a live wire, causing a fatal shock. Police registered an unnatural death case.
