Italian military horses were seen running on Rome's Cristoforo Colombo street after breaking free during parade rehearsal for the Italian Republic's 80th anniversary on June 2. The horses reportedly escaped after being scared by sound of fireworks. Italians voted to abolish the monarchy in 1946 and established the republic, which also marked their first national election allowing women to vote.
