Steve Smith overtakes Joe Root to become No. 2 Test batter

Australia batter Steve Smith has climbed to the number two spot in the latest ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings. With 840 rating points, he has overtaken England Test captain Joe Root, who has moved down to the third position with 820 rating points. England's Harry Brook retained the number one spot while Shubman Gill slipped two positions to ninth place.
