The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs introduced deferred customs duty payment facility to a new category of importers called Eligible Manufacturer Importers (EMIs). The facility will be available from April 1 and will remain in force till March 31, 2028. Under this initiative, EMIs will be able to pay applicable duty on imported goods on a monthly basis.
