Flights suspended, schools closed as Indonesia’s Anak Krakatau volcano erupts

Indonesia's Mount Anak Krakatau eruption forced six airports to suspend operations, leaving more than 1,50,000 passengers stranded and affecting 301 flights, including 58 international services. Several schools cancelled activities after students reported eye irritation from volcanic ash, while fishermen also called off trips. The ash plume rose to 20,000 feet over Java, east of the volcano.
