The 2016 controversy between Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut had started when Kangana, during an interview, referred to an unnamed "silly ex." The remark was widely understood to refer to him. Hrithik had sent Kangana legal notice asking her to apologise and withdraw remarks. Kangana refused and responded with her own legal notice. Emails allegedly exchanged between them also surfaced.
