India's Open & Women's teams held to draw at Chess Olympiad, Savitha gets perfect 7/7

India were held to a 2-2 draw by Azerbaijan in Round 8 of the Open category at FIDE Chess Olympiad 2026 on Thursday. Praggnanandhaa R, Arjun Erigaisi, Gukesh D and Vidit Gujrathi drew their respective matches. In the Women's category, Savitha Shri B recorded her seventh straight win in seven games to help India secure 2-2 draw against Kazakhstan.
