A 70-year-old man has been making as many as 1,500 idlis daily, selling each for ₹5 in Karnataka's Kanakapura. Ramachandra, who follows the recipe started by his father in 1972, wakes up at 4 am, grinds the batter by hand and steams the idlis on a traditional firewood stove. Ramachandra said he feels he doesn't exist if he stops working.
