The World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday warned that the excessive flooding in Pakistan this monsoon could lead to a health crisis. The rains have destroyed or damaged nearly 900 clinics and hospitals and damage to infrastructure has meant health services are not reaching remote areas. WHO has also said there is a possibility of waterborne diseases spreading rapidly.
