Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said Kolhapuri chappals have an export potential of $1 billion. His comments came after Prada announced it'll partner with Indian artisans to produce Made-in-India Kolhapuri-inspired luxury sandals, each worth around ₹85,000. "Our craftsmen and artisans will work together to make this (Kolhapuri chappals) a global brand," he added.
