US' Pentagon has launched an 18-month competition called “Drone Dominance”, offering $1.1 billion in contracts to companies to build up to 3,00,000 drones. The move comes amid Russia-Ukraine war and US-Iran conflict, where drones have played a major role. The Trump administration is reportedly seeking $54.6 billion in next year’s defense budget to significantly expand drone warfare programmes.
