Nearly 100-yr-old endangered tortoise becomes mother for 1st time

A tortoise at the Philadelphia Zoo has become the oldest first-time mother of her species after having her first babies at around 100 years old. The tortoise, named Mommy, is a western Santa Cruz Galápagos tortoise, a critically endangered species in their native home of the Galápagos Islands, and there are fewer than 50 kept in US zoos.
