The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) has eased the process for transferring mutual fund units after a unit holder's death by revising its standard operating procedure. The new guidelines aim to help nominees and legal heirs claim investments faster by reducing delays caused by minor record mismatches. AMCs can now accept updated addresses if backed by valid documents.
