A woman from Kanpur levelled dowry harassment charges against her husband and in-laws, alleging she was asked to donate a kidney to her husband or bring ₹30 lakh. She said the family hid before marriage that her husband’s kidneys had failed. She added her family gave jewellery, ₹8 lakh in cash and a car at the time of marriage.
