Israel's Security Cabinet approved 19 new Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said. These include two settlements that Israel evacuated in the northern West Bank during a 2005 disengagement plan. This decision brings the number of new settlements over the past three years to 69, Smotrich added.
