72-yr-old Vaidehi Chandrasekar wins gold for pic of giraffe at Nature Photography Awards

Photographer Vaidehi Chandrasekar, 72, won gold in the 'Behaviour- Mammals' category at the 2026 World Nature Photography Awards. Her photograph, titled 'Water Ballet', captures a giraffe creating an arc of water droplets after drinking at Botswana's Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Chandrasekar, a Singapore permanent resident, pursued photography more seriously after retiring in 2019.
