Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk was released from Jodhpur Central Jail on Saturday after six months. The release came after the government revoked his detention under the National Security Act with immediate effect. Wangchuk had been detained on September 26, 2025, by the Leh district magistrate after protests demanding statehood for Ladakh and its inclusion under Constitution's Sixth Schedule.
