Pakistan applied for BRICS membership in 2023, still waiting to get in

Pakistan applied to join BRICS in 2023, but remains outside the bloc despite seeking support from Russia and China. BRICS expanded last year by admitting Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the UAE, becoming BRICS+. However, India’s opposition has stalled Pakistan’s entry under the bloc’s consensus-based admission rules, leaving Islamabad waiting for membership, NDTV reported.
