A US federal judge temporarily blocked the White House from proceeding with a $1.8 billion compensation package that critics have called a "slush fund" for President Donald Trump’s political allies. The administration said the fund is meant to compensate people it claims were wrongly harmed by the earlier governments. Both Democrats and Republicans have criticised the fund.
