NDTV gave Manoj Bajpayee's 'Governor' two out of five stars, describing it as "a disaster" despite what it called an acting masterclass from the actor. The review said Manoj's performance was wasted on a film with "terribly misaligned" storytelling, adding his "magnificently modulated performance" could not overcome the flaws that run through the movie.
