NASA to launch Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on August 30

NASA said it is prepared to launch the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on August 30 aboard SpaceX's Falcon Heavy rocket. The telescope is enclosed in 43-foot tall fairing to protect it from acoustic vibrations, aerodynamic pressure, and heating when it travels through Earth’s atmosphere. The telescope's destination is the Sun-Earth Lagrange Point 2, around 1.5 million km from Earth.
